On Friday, July 2, we decided to take a day trip to a couple of the closer falls locations. First we went to see Memorial Falls, located on Highway 89, six miles north of the Showdown ski area (north of White Sulpher Springs, MT. This waterfall appears to get a lot of tourist traffic as it has a fairly well developed visitors area. It's a short hike to the falls, probably less than 1/4 mile on a well traveled path. The flow was a lot less than I was expecting given the amount of snow pack still in the mountains and the warm temperatures. All in all, a pretty little falls, but not much to talk about. However, the surrounding area and the drive to get there was breathtaking. Here are a couple of our favorite pics!
